Purpose | Restaurant |
In the idyllic coastal town of Bridport (GB) Smiemans Projecten built a restaurant of 415 m² next to Groves nurseries.
It is commercially essential for a garden centre in England to have a restaurant; it complements the feeling that people can enjoy going to the garden centre and makes it a real “experience”. Smiemans has previously built a number of restaurants.
This restaurant is a HighLight arched greenhouse that is 8.5 metres high at the ridge of the roof. The space is split up into a restaurant, a conservatory and an outdoor terrace. It has room for over 300 visitors. The design is by the architects Malcolm Scott Consultants. The restaurant was opened May 2018.
